since May 31

Campaign Reports Over $800,000 Cash on Hand — Nearly Twice that of

HARRISONBURG – Mark Obenshain’s campaign for Attorney General today announced that it has raised more than $1 million since the convention, reporting $607,362 raised in the most recent reporting period from July 1 to August 31. The campaign reported $819,899 in cash on hand. Obenshain once again outraised his opponent and ended this reporting period with nearly twice his opponent’s $488,776 in cash on hand.

Speaking about the fundraising numbers, Campaign Manager Chris Leavitt said, “Today’s report shows momentum continuing to build for Mark Obenshain’s campaign for Attorney General. Mark set out to run his campaign based on his plans for the office, and as he has continued to lay out detailed, substantive plans and articulate those plans on the campaign trail, our support continues to grow. Mark has raised more than a million dollars in these first two periods of the general election — something no candidate for Attorney General has done before. With 50 days until the election, the Obenshain campaign will have the resources it needs to get Mark’s message out and win on November 5.”

Obenshain’s fundraising from May 30-August 31 in historical perspective:

Jerry Kilgore raised $660,212
Donald McEachin raised $348,060

Bob McDonnell raised $788,162
